Looking for a new job can be a challenging quest. When embarking on this journey, it’s natural to want professional support to make the transition as smooth and successful as possible. This is where TripleTen steps in. TripleTen’s Career Center helps you enhance your resume, create attractive cover letters, prepare for a technical interview, and get the answers to all your job hunting questions.

TripleTen’s Goal: After graduation, you will be able to ace interviews with ease and land a job in tech with good work conditions. Your past experience and domain knowledge will be taken into account.

What career support does TripleTen provide?

Our Career Center is divided into the Career Prep course and Career Acceleration program. You can start Career Prep from day one. This is where students get to know the basics. They learn about technical interviews, how to create a personal brand in tech, how to become a networking ninja, and more.

TripleTen students can start the Career Prep course at any time during their studies, without limitation. Once you feel confident enough to start looking for a job, you’re more than welcome. This program becomes available to students immediately after they start their studies. Most students start the program during the final months of the bootcamp. However, some start on the second or third sprint. Ana Mineeva, TripleTen Career Product Lead

What will you learn during the Career Prep course?

How to prepare a resume

A polished resume is your claim to fame and something by which your future employers will judge you. Your goal is to show that you’ve got what it takes, even though your only experience is that which you gained during your studies.

“You can, for instance, share your previous experience in finance, adding that upon finishing TripleTen’s bootcamp, you decided to venture into data science. However, if you state that you’re experienced in data science without any real proof, you will get turned down. These are the types of mistakes we teach you to avoid”, says Anastasia Cherepanova, TripleTen Career Product Lead.

How to write a cover letter

Sure, you can send your resume to as many companies as you like, but if you want to narrow down the funnel, you should write a cover letter. It should have a well-defined structure that shares a little about yourself and why you’re interested in this company.

We have a whole lesson dedicated to writing cover letters. Start by showing your interest in the company, and say what you know about it. Then, explain a little about yourself, adding how you can benefit the company. Anastasia Cherepanova, TripleTen Career Product Lead

How to assemble a portfolio

How will you prove that you’ve got what it takes if you don’t have much experience? Show your finished projects. All TripleTen students get to work on real cases. That’s why our graduates have no problem answering interview questions about their theoretical and practical knowledge. Create a GitHub profile and showcase your portfolio.

Career Prep ends with students presenting their GitHub and LinkedIn profiles, and their resume. We evaluate them, and only when they are squeaky clean do we allow the student to move on to Career Acceleration. Ana Mineeva

How to create a networking map

Networking is not an abstract notion. It’s something that can and should be mastered. Think of it as a to-do list. For instance, find someone you used to go to school with, or look for potential employers in your area and invite people from the company for coffee.

“It’s not easy for some students to immediately address someone unknown on LinkedIn and say, ‘Hey, I want to work for you. Can you take a look at my resume?’ Instead, we give students templates on how to write to employers and let them know that you’re interested in their company,” says Ana. “Don’t type, ‘Hi John, my name is Sam, and I want to join your company.’ Find some common ground and share that in the intro. For instance, say that you’re both from the same college. You should always start with small talk.”

How to prep for a technical interview

Good news: you can learn to pass interviews with flying colors. The best way to do this is by mock interviews, where students, with the support of TripleTen’s technical tutors, practice answering interview questions and prepare for technical interviews. Students are asked the same questions they would get on a real technical interview.

Here are more tips on how to pass a technical interview.

How to develop a job application strategy

Don’t send out your resume right and left. We recommend creating a file in Notion or Excel to keep a record of where and when you’ve sent them, what the reply was, etc. This will help you analyze your path and adjust it, if needed.

Our trademark is one-on-one coaching. Students get together with their coach every two weeks to go over mistakes and adjust their job search strategy. Ana Mineeva

What if I still have questions?

Our career specialists are there to resolve any doubt caused by the job search process. You’ll go over your past reviews together to see what to improve or pay attention to before your next appointment.

Career Acceleration

Career Acceleration is all about finding a job. This means you’ll be paired with a career coach to guide you through mock interviews, teach you to funnel, and help you do other important things necessary to land a job.

“Not all our students end up in the Career Acceleration program, because some of them have already found a job. Career Acceleration is for those who are still looking,” says Ana.

Our Career Acceleration course guarantees that you will receive 1:1 career coaching support and work on the most vulnerable parts of the job application process to impress recruiters with a structured and professional approach. Your previous experience will also be taken into account when searching for companies.

Now you know why our Career Center is so awesome. But what if you complete both of these programs and still can’t find a job? No worries. If you don't get a new job or promotion within six months of graduating, we’ll give you a full refund. Our personal approach means we’ll go over your mistakes, and stay in touch, both until and after you’ve landed a job. Here are the numbers to prove that your chances are high: 56% find a job before graduation, and our student employment rate is 87%. So, start learning a new profession now, and let the TripleTen Career Center help you land your dream job
